Terengganu Cycling Team’s (TSG) Harrif Saleh gave locals fans much to cheer about after emerging victorious in the fifth stage of Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) in Perak today.
Harrif won the 165.8km stage, which started in Kuala Kubu Baru and ended in Ipoh, in three hours, 39 minutes and 42 seconds.
NTT Pro Cycling’s Max Walscheid and Bardiani CSF Faizane’s Matteo Pelucchi came in second and third in the bunch sprint finish. This is the second time Harrif Saleh has won a stage in LTdL after also securing one win in last year’s tour.
Team Sapura Cycling’s Danilo Celano remained in charge of the PETRONAS yellow jersey after arriving safely in the main group today.
The sixth stage tomorrow will see riders covering 150.9km from Taiping to Penang.
