Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) has officially unveiled Malaysian national footballer Matthew Davies as their latest signing for the 2020 M-League season.
The 25-year-old Australian-born defender left Pahang to join the six-time Malaysian Super League champions on a three-year contract.
JDT head coach Benjamin Mora welcomed Davies into the Southern Tigers, saying the rightback would be a good addition to the team.
“Davies is a well-known Malaysian footballer and achieved good results with Pahang.
“He gave us headaches over the few past years when playing for Pahang and he is one of the best rightbacks right now, ” he added.
Mora said this in a press conference held at JDT headquarters here Monday (Feb 17).
Meanwhile, Davies said it was a dream come true for him to be playing in a football club such as JDT.
“As footballers, we want to surround ourselves with best footballers around and JDT have that with some of their players I know well from playing in the national team, ” he added.
