Perak footballer, Beto, helps family sell satay during Ramadan
Don’t be surprised if your delivery man is Perak midfielder, Ahmad Khairil Anuar Ahmad Zamri.
Ahmad Khairil Anuar or better known as Beto, 25, said he has been helping his family’s satay business by delivering orders to his customers during this Movement Control Order (MCO) period and Ramadan.
Beto said during the previous fasting month, his family sold satay at three different bazaars in Ipoh.
“My family needs to adapt the ‘new normal’ and we have to change the method, from traditional bazaar to delivery system following the MCO.
“During this Ramadan, I have changed my work schedule to night time. So during the day, I will help my family and deliver the orders to customers.
“Previously, I had no time to help them due to training. It is not a new thing for me to grill satay because I used to do it when I was younger,” he said, adding that his family has been running the satay business for 15 years.
Beto said he learnt a lot when delivering satay to customers and it was definitely not an easy task because he had to deal with their personalities and endure unpredictable weather.
“It is not easy as we as think to deliver food. This job requires a lot of patience and sincerity,” said Beto who delivers the satay using a motorcycle.
Beto added that during this MCO period, he continues with his diet and training at his home to ensure his performance is above par.
