Sanusi heads Kedah FA
KEDAH Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor was officially elected as the new Kedah FA (KFA) president in yesterday’s extraordinary general meeting (EGM) in Alor Star.
Sanusi was the sole candidate nominated for the post. Former national player Radhi Mat Din returned unopposed for the deputy post.
The post comes with huge responsibilities for Sanusi considering that Kedah, who play in the Super League, are facing financial woes.
It is learnt that their players have not received their salaries for several months.
“I hope everyone at KFA, including the affiliates, will work together. The aim is to help Kedah become a great team again,” he said.
The new president is aware that M-League teams are facing financial issues due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“KFA are not excluded. We need to overcome these challenges together.
“It is good that local tournaments will be allowed to resume from Aug 15.
“Financially, the KFA have a lot of backlog in payments. The biggest challenge is the financial aspect.
“We need to settle overdue payments to our dependents, and that is our immediate goal,” he added.
