KL on course for Super League return
Kuala Lumpur are on the verge of promotion to the Super League after they blanked TFC II 4-1 in a Premier League match in Cheras on Saturday.
Francis Kone (10th and 47th minutes), Paulo Josue (20th) and Zhafri Yahya (90th) netted for the City Boys while TFC II replied through Jordan Mintah (81st).
Penang, who edged JDT II 2-1, and KL have collected 17 points each with the former at the top of the standings on goal difference.
The top two teams will be promoted to the Super League next season.
With four matches remaining, KL will have to maintain their winning ways to make an immediate return to the top-tier competition.
KL coach Nidzam Adzha Yusoff does not want his boys to become complacent.
“Our mission is to return to the Super League. I am determined to achieve the target set by the management,” said Nidzam.
“I want my players to focus on the next four matches.
“Nothing is guaranteed as other teams are also hoping to do well.”
Feeder clubs will remain in the Premier League even if they finish in the top-two bracket.
