Vietnam are not afraid of Tigers
Vietnam coach Park Hang Seo is not afraid of Malaysia.
Instead, the South Korean believes Vietnam, who topped Group A, will easily beat Group B runners-up Malaysia in the football semi-finals at Viet Tri Stadium tomorrow.
However, Hang Seo is slightly worried about his players’ form as they had struggled in their final group match against Timor Leste (won 2-0) on Sunday.
Overall, the hosts topped their group with three wins and a draw to show.
Despite showing some weaknesses, Vietnam, in front of their fans, will be in fiery form with seniors Do Hung Dung, Nguyen Hoang Duc and Nguyen Tien Linh returning to the squad when they face the Young Tigers.
Hang Seo, however, has to work on strategies as despite topping Group A, they had some bad moments during their matches.
“My players have tried their best so far, and I appreciate them for that.
“However, they need to progress and do better in the next two matches.
“I have studied Malaysia’s game, and we are ready for them. We will give our best and focus fully on this match.
“I want them to go out there and play like warriors against Malaysia. We will fight until the final whistle,” said Hang Seo.
Malaysia were ahead in their group until the 2-2 draw against Cambodia in their last game on Monday.
The draw saw Thailand topping the group after a 1-0 win over Laos. The Thais will take on Indonesia in the other semi-final.
